I would make it optional to use the new sections.  If you run software
that supports the four sections, you get to log the four sections.  If
you run ancient...errrr.... august....software you get one.  Those
handy with notepad.exe can hand edit the entries if they like.  That's
the price of running unmaintained closed source software.
