No flames here, but I don't think anyone was suggesting limiting
operation on a large scale to 40 and 80.  One individual mentioned
about operating AM on 40 and 80.  That's one person.  I always make an
effort to milk all the contacts I can from 20 and above, especially on
Sunday as that's where all the new mults are for the taking.  Last
year I got hooked on getting all 67 counties, so I stayed on 40 and 80
more than usual, at the expense of 20.  I got the sweep but lost a lot
of points and placed second in QRP instead of first.  (Congrats again,
Mark, NK8Q :-) )  The 20 meter good neighbor award  encourages 20
meter operation, so I don't think we're in danger of changing the
character of the Party with ops not doing 20.

Is a do dah parade a bad thing?  I've never heard that term, though it
could be a generational or regional thing :-)
