Funny.. I never heard W3USA at all yet I seem to work them 3 or 4 times
every other year.

Did anyone notice that there appeared to be no County Line stations this
year?

Shucky Durn:

I was able to find W3USA mobile numerous times, and K8MR twice, once or
twice even on SSB. Working a contest with SSB mobile on 75 metres @
night is not for one with a faint heart.

I didn't even think to read about the "preferred" frequency for mobiles.

That K8MR could copy my peanut whistle from Michigan is a compliment to
RFI reduction from automobile ignition and other local sources, plus
operator skill.

suggestions, including our operation frequency suggestions, that is all it
is. We can't enforce it, there is no legal issue involved, and not everyone
is using a frequency agile logging program. I've operated mobile a number of
years, and I don't even seek out the windows. I either search and pounce, or
find a place to settle in and run. A fairly recent happening is that I QSO
with someone who then very generously gives up the frequency so that I can
run in some rare county. Wow, I guess that's why we call ourselves the
friendly QSO party!

show the FCC that the bands are alive and well and populated, perhaps being
of more service to the rag chewers than they might think.
