I would like to thank everyone who responded to my rover station this weekend. I had one goal in mind before the contest started which I accomplished. I guess it's very rare to go portable and not have any problems, so here is my story
I borrowed a lap top and never checked it out before the contest started. The batteries were a bit low, so when I plugged in the charger, was I surprised. It ripped apart the TS2000 on 40 and 80. I had to keep shutting down while I operated in Wayne and Lackawanna Counties. Loosing valuable contacts. I finished those two counties at 298 contacts. Far below expectations. I was only about 15 miles from my home and switched to an old computer but went high tech with a 22 inch monitor, in the back seat of my Little Chevy.  I then set up in Luzerne County before dark and tried to play some catch up.
The drive to Montour County was very foggy Sunday morning. But as I got to the higher elevations, it was stunning the rest of the day. I never saw a cloud in the sky, and the color of the leaves were well worth the trip in the higher elevations.
Of the five counties I operated from, Lackawanna won the prize for the most bugs.
I want to apologize to many guys who called and I could not dig them out. The reason is simple. The TS2000 is junk. I use it for roving in VHF contests, but God help anyone who uses it on a crowded band. The front end of this radio melts if there are a few strong signals on the band.
But I will give it a thumbs up for the easy to program voice keyer, and CW memory keyer.
For my goal, I wanted to see if I could work over 1,000 stations with 100 watts and a two band dipole. Mission accomplished.
Since I used two different computers, I have no idea right now what my totals were. I will try and make a posting soon
Again, thank you all for one of the finest weekends of ham radio I ever spent in my over fifty years of this great hobby
