Three hours is par for the course for AAA response most of the time here
in SW Michigan. They have an answering service in Timbuktu, or some
such, and after you understand what they're asking, they take your
number and forward it at donkey speed, or so it seems. :)
Glad you got home safely.
BTW, I've operated 100 watts to an antenna similar to what you describe
from the back of my F)ix O)r R)epair D)aily Windstar, and haven't
scrambled the remote key entry receiver. It's an ancient 1996 version
of electronics, and might not be nearly as finicky as newer vehicles.
It has a keyed lock inside for the ignition, etc., but the keys don't
have any electronics embedded.
