Was in NUM for quite a while...enough to make 32 total qso's, but only 5 on SSB, and as Jim pointed out, one was to W3USA/M  Mobile SSB is difficult enough, and with the hustler antenna system, on most bands you have to choose either ssb or CW tuning.  I am already working on a more simple solution for next year, as well as fine tuning the county routes.  I"ll do a write up similar to N3LI's within a few days, when I have more details after some log hashing.

Sounds like NUM was the toughest of counties this year, or at least very
close to it.

Not that I didn't try!  But when I was there about 00z, I CQ'd  and CQ'd on
80 cw with only 3 qsos in about 8 minutes to show for it. (I  had one more
when I called W3VPJ across the river in Snyder).  And that's  right after I
had a decent run on the same frequency just before leaving SNY. I  probably
also tried 40 CW, but if I did I had no qsos there either.

So I went to 75 SSB to salvage a few qsos. There I heard a very loud
KA3QLF/m working somebody, so I called QLF even though it was the other guy's
frequency. Turns out he was in UNI, only a few miles away, and by the time we
finished the QSO he had entered NUM, so we worked again.

In the end, in my time driving up from US 11 to  PA 147 to I-80,  I ended
up with only nine qsos in about 18 minutes, not even enough for the  mobile
station bonus   :>(

I'm still adding up my scores, more to follow later.
