With the sun once again going spotless, I don't have a lot of hope for good
short skip during the daytime on 40 meters. I'll be on 40 a lot at least
working the out of state stations, but I do have a backup plan for 80 meters.

If 40 is indeed not good, I'll make frequent short visits to 80 meters. In
particular, I plan to show up on 3540.0 (the recommended frequency/top of
the mobile window). If no action, off to other bands. But if you can keep
an ear out there, propagation within PA should be usable. I hope fixed
stations will avoid that frequency in the mobile window.

I encourage other mobiles to also use 3540 as a calling frequency during
the daytime. At night, when most of the activity will be on 80, the window
is not so important, as sooner or later people will find activity wherever
it may be.

I'll likely also try short visits to 75 SSB throughout the whole contest. I
can't predict an exact frequency, but I'll first try in the 3800-3825
range.

I will have 146.55 FM available, but won't be making many calls there
unless we're stopped at a high location. But if I hear activity, I'll try to
jump in if I'm not busy working the pileups elsewhere.

Great weather forecast for the weekend! Hope to work lots of you as I'm
riding around the state.
