Next Saturday, Sept. 4 is the 2010 Colorado QSO Party from 6 am to 9 pm
local time.  We encourage all GMCCers to be active during as much of the
contest as you can as there will be a lot of county hunters and contesters
looking to QSO you and log your county multiplier.  Please get on from your
home station, go portable, or operate mobile in the contest.  Check the
rules at www.ppraa.org/coqp.

Mobiles are especially helpful in the COQP as they can put on more than one
county;  so, if you ever wanted to try out your mobile on SSB or CW, here's
your chance.  We need a lot of help to provide contacts and a lot of county
multipliers for the multitude.  GMCC is recommending that mobiles activating
counties check 7050 and/or 7250 on the half hour to work Colorado home
stations and those in surrounding states.  Likewise, we encourage home
stations check the 40m frequencies on the half hour to log the Colorado
mobiles who are passing out county multipliers and QSOs.

GMCCers have indicated their plans to activate counties during the test, as
follows:

 We're hoping for a lot more than ten ops in the club to be active;  last
year, we had 21 GMCCers get on for the QSO Party.
