I was looking forward to working the 2009 PA QSO Party from home in SOM as I
usually do but I got a call late Friday evening that my daughter had a
motorcycle accident in Norfolk VA. We started out about 8:30 and found the
hospital about 2:30 AM Saturday.  My wife is now sold on a GPS.  We drove
right to the hospital.  We were very glad to see her alive as she laid her
motorcycle down when a car suddenly came from a side street across the right
lane into the left lane where she was riding.  The policeman that was
traveling behind her said that if she wouldn't have done as she did the car
probably would have killed her.  She survived with 5 broken ribs, a broken
collar bone, a broken shoulder, a fractured upper back, a punctured lung and
much road rash.  She was wearing a Helmut which saved her from head injury.
Thank God she is alive and will heal without much permanent injury if any.
I suppose I can look forward to 2010.  It is my favorite contest and I
always look forward to exchanging information with old friends.
