Hi Guys-
Just a short recap from WA3EOP/M
I operated from 6 Counties, spending the most time in Fulton and Adams. My mobile was having troubles operating on 20 for some reason
so I spent most of my time on 40 and 75 phone as the "weak mobile". I can say I made 190 mobile qsos in about 10 hours of mobile contesting.
When I consider that 3 - 4 hours of that was driving and not operating, its wasn't too bad for a "weak mobile".
What was frustrating was hearing several counties that I never worked. I wouldn't have had a sweep anyway but I did work 50 counties during my efforts
so was legitimately active. Worst couple hours for me was Sunday Morning 9-11. I was calling and calling on 40 and 75 and only worked 10 or 15 stations
from each of Cumberland and York Counties. I could not find another Fulton station to work and I could not count talking to myself. I did work Adams
from Adams. And Bedford from 2 counties.
I could have perhaps worked VEN before stopping in Adams but I just got tired of talking and logging even though I heard the call and I apologize. But I
told the station I worked before that he would be my last qso this year and wanted to be true to my word.
Anyway, without more than 1 contact on 20, I did get 24 sections and 1 DX Multiplier and the 50 counties so I guess for the "weak mobile" I proved I was
getting out a little. It was satisfying to be thanked from several folks for Fulton and Adams county. I even got scolded by one ham who I worked from
Franklin who told me by not being there last year I cost him the clean sweep. Franklin was plentiful this year as N3QBI made 70 qso, AB3AH was working,
many folks, WA3AAT was in the pileups and W3SML made some contacts and I worked 50 of you from the mobile. You can take Franklin off the rre
counties list.
My final score including mobile bonus points 17,500. I never heard the Bonus station. Story of my life.
Hopefully the work gods will let me vacation from work in another year or two on Contest weekend and we can try this again.
