[PaQSO] PA QSO Party and NY QSO Party on the Same Weekend - Comments Solicited

Even if the NYQP stays small the first year, the confusion created if its run on the same weekend as a very active neighboring state's QSO Party will likely not boad well for the contest's future.  Therefore it is better that any contest avoid one of the major contest weekends.

Additionally the CQ WW Phone test is October 24 -25 and CW is November 28 - 29.
 Take care,

Having the NYQP is a great idea, but running it concurrently with PAQP or
CAQP is a bad idea:

1.  It will wreak havoc on the bands, from a crowding perspective.  For sure
40m and 80m are crowded and the upper bands will soon be too when the solar
activity picks up.

2.  For stations in either contest, it will be practically impossible to
work both contests if using computerized logging AND rig control.

3.  It may confuse some "casual participants" (those stations that make just
a handful of contacts)

The October 31 - November 1 date that was mentioned in a prior post might be
ideal, since it lets people work out any kinks in their stations in between
other contests.
