Hi Guys:
After figuring out Saturday evening that something was very wrong (I kept answering calls all day and most people said I was 'just above the noise level'), I really got on the air Sunday. Early sunday morning I went outside and pulled down the dipole and realized I was working with half a dipole. The ladder line to half my dipole was disconnected probably due to wind and wear over time. I pulled the whole thing down, reconnected and soldered it all up temporarily and strung the thing up again. Voila, people can actually hear me again!
Due to my antenna problems, my score and results were less than I hoped for:
379 QSOs (373 phone and 6 CW)
56 PA Counties
61 ARRL Sections and DX
Plus 7 x W3OK Bonus Contacts
(I even made a few 160m contacts.. that's when I knew something was wrong as I can never tune up my dipole on 160m)
---------------------------
Total Score: 46,445 points from Lancaster (Single op running 100 Watts)
Kudos go out to the event organizers as well as the mobiles. Also, thanks go out to NL7XM (Pete) for the regular W3OK updates via email to the group on what counties/freqs were live at any given time for the bonus station. Really looking forward to next year as my antenna is now fixed, but no more PA QSO party. BTW.. DX on 15m to Europe and Africa is awesome today!
Question about electronic logs -
I used the WB3W Logging software and am trying to figure out what file(s) I need to email in as my electronic log. Also, do the files need to be converted to Cabrillo or something, if I recall. I don't see anything specifically about this on the website under "Entry Materials".
Please provide more info about what we need for sending in electronic logs.
