[PaQSO] Updates and some issues and an announcement

The web pages for received logs has been updated. Things are starting to
fill out pretty well. I got the most recent batch of Logs Thursday, and
had a marathon session yesterday to get them entered. I will be posting
the first preliminary scores soon.

As always, if you don't see your entry, shoot off an email to me. Often
the answer is going to be "It's probably in the next batch", but I flag
the emails for attention.

Now onto the issues.

The first issue is that Everyone should remember that there are two
different summary sheets available online. One that can be filled out
and printed. The other is more traditional and can be written. A lot of
people have been using the fill in form, and "whiting out" the zeros
that appear in the fields. I hate to see folks having to go to the extra
work. I'll be changing that entry materials part of the web page to more
clearly steer people to the form they need.

Second thing is that as the years go by, some of the summary sheets that
are printed out by the logging programs have some outdated information
on them. Typical pf these old summaries is telling the Op to send their
materials to Doug at his old Pennsylvania address. And It's been quite a
while since HDH has been at the helm.

On that same note, there are some old summary sheets - even of ours -
that are floating around. I've seen a few from 2004, the year before I
took over, and up. The promotional items have increased in cost as our
production costs have increased, and on some of the earlier ones, the
prices don't cover our costs any more.

Thirdly, there are some summary sheets with logging software that are
not calculating the scores correctly. I'll be identifying which ones are
which, and contacting the programmers to see if they are interested in
updating the summary part of their programs.

But the main thing is, check out the online and latest Summary sheets if
you have any questions.

Finally, I'd like to take a little different tack in the Special Event
station for 2009. I would like to try an "old school" single station
Special Event station. We are looking for a multi-multi-op station that
can run both SSB and CW. A Strong signal is needed. Interested parties
are encouraged to get in contact with me.
