Mike and all at Nittany who were instrumental in the summary,

Thanks for a great summary. I just got my summary in the mail and had a
great time going through it quickly. I'll spend more time to look it
over later tonight as well and plan to file it with my log and
certificate for future reference. I was especially glad to see the
extra breakdown by club that was not included last year, very nice
addition, which I hope continues.

It is unbelievable how many categories there are and each one is well
represented which shows what a diverse group we have. This certainly
keeps things interesting and should be used as a tool to encourage
newcomers that there can be a category for EVERYONE, just get out there
and operate and do the best you can. Oh, also don't forget to send in
the logs, regardless of the scores. I find the scores not so important
as the participation, but of course some folk surely enjoy the
competition as well! I hope that next year we have an increase in the
number of submitted logs, despite our current position in the solar
cycle. Sure enough, it seems to be a level playing field in that
respect as we all have the same propagation regardless of if we are a
super station or a little guy. Don't wait for the peak of the sunspot
cycle to operate, get out there and do it now, that way you have a
better appreciation of the improved conditions as the cycle swings back
up and peaks again someday. Of course I'm preaching to the choir here
aren't I?

73 to all and see you from some county, either here at home in Lehigh
or out and about in Potter or someplace else during the second weekend
of October!

Mark, NK8Q
