This is something that we'll have to remember to keep an eye on in the
future.
Many of you may not be aware of this, but currently there's a "tempest in a
teapot" discussion on the CQ-Contest reflector regarding county
abbreviations. There is a small group pushing for adaptation of the MARAC 4
letter abbreviations as a "standard" for all... which means that there's a
good chance that in the future, some contest software will be written on
that assumption. Which will drive all of us crazy, if and when it
happens... ok, some of us crazy, some of us crazier, whatever...
see you this weekend!

Software
Folks,
This is somewhat confusing, but important.
I noted that the Canadian multipliers in my version of Writelog were not in
accordance with the contest rules. I suggest that all in state stations
check your software as the Canadian multipliers for the Pa QSO Party are
different then those used typically in other contests.
According to the rules (http://www.nittany-arc.net/records_8-06.pdf) there
are 13 Canadian multipliers as follows:
NB
NF
NS
PEI
VE2
VE3
VE4
VE5
VE6
VE7
VE8
VO2
YUK
I believe these multipliers currently correspond to the following Canadian
territories and prefixes, which I incorporated into the Writelog multiplier
definition file (namedmul.ini):
NB (New Brunswick) (VE9)
NF (New Foundland) (VO1)
NS (Nova Scotia) (VE1)
PEI (Prince Edwards Island) (VY2)
VE2 (Quebec)
VE3 (Ontario)
VE4 (Manitoba)
VE5 (SK)
VE6 (Alberta)
VE7 (British Columbia)
VE8 (North West Terrorities)
VO2 (Labrador)
YUK (Yukon) (VY1)
For those of you using Writelog, I can send you my version of the
namedmul.ini file if you need it.
