I think one has to remember that, in most parts
of the world, 7040 is the RTTY calling frequency.
During a big RTTY contest, it is not unusual to
find RTTY down to 7030 kHz or even lower. Because
of the large amount of activity, the stations need
to spread out.
Ordinarily, 7080 to 7100 should have lots of phone
stations, depending on time of day.
