Greetings
a while back our group hesitated at my suggestion to put up a 6m beam and 100 watt station for Field Day (or was it PAQP 2003?). Guess what
the band opened and we gained 64 contacts from that opening. Up to that point it was few contacts with one out to FN00, hardly worthy of the effort until
the opening. We also gained a few stations on 2m ssb and fm but not that it would have made any difference. I will be listening on at least 2m and 6m
all modes (maybe 440mhz) when I am in my new Qth next year. My effort this year was from a backup temporary Qth due to rain and put 110 CARBON
contacts out there. I hope next year CARBON won't be the rare one, because WYOMING COUNTY (weather permitting) is one of the counties in my
sights !!! You have almost a year warning. I broke in a new radio on this party and it liked it! CARBON RADIO won't only be in Carbon County next
year. With all my toys out of the boxes it will undoubtedly be my best effort after all these years of operating out of the worst Pa Qth in the party - except
the grand contest machines of K3II and W3HA. Let the rumors begin. Let the VHF UHF be "free" radios for the contest and not count them toward
multi-transmitter status. Thank You for keeping PAQP the friendliest contest around and opening the frequencies for the rare ones.
