[PaQSO] N3LL STATION INFO AND RAMBLINGS ( TO CHANGE THE SUBJECT)

Regarding the day-glow orange paint, I tried that one year and
unfortunately (or fortunately if you're in the mountains to view the
fall foliage) the leaves had already turned and were extremely vivid
that year - lots of bright oranges that made the sinker blend in
beautifully! aughh

Now I spray paint the sinkers bright white. My biggest problem this
year was having to rewind the fishing reels with fresh line since there
wasn't enough on the reel to allow the sinker to make it all the way
back down to the ground. And I was already soaked as soaked could be as
I was having one heck of a time installing the antennas in pouring rain.

Note for next year - pack a poncho.

Another idea is to spray all the weights with day-glow orange paint.
Very visible.

<> GREAT idea!

I've used that waxed cord, too, when I can get it. Orange Mason's Twine
(a thin nylon cord) available at most building supply stores, also works
well.
For holding up coax-fed dipoles, I usually use the Mason's twine to pull
a 1/4"
(aprox) rope into the tree for a support. Might be a bit of overkill,
but I don't like to reinstall dipoles at 0100 Z, in the dark.
