Another idea is to spray all the weights with day-glow orange paint.  Very 
visible.

I've used that waxed cord, too, when I can get it.  Orange Mason's Twine (a 
thin nylon cord) available at most building supply stores, also works well.  
For holding up coax-fed dipoles, I usually use the Mason's twine to pull a 1/4" 
(aprox) rope into the tree for a support.  Might be a bit of overkill, but I 
don't like to reinstall dipoles at 0100 Z, in the dark.
