[PaQSO] County Line Ops

Why don't we just eliminate all mobile and portable operation?
That way we could just sit in our comfy warm and dry shacks instead
of going out in weather like we had this past weekend, erecting
temporary antennae (again in the rain and wind) just to put some
of the less active counties on the air.

Oh my gosh... I wonder if anyone has a home shack sitting on a
county line!

All in all... I think people are blowing this way out of proportion.
Let's go back to the discussion of allowing Echolink contacts.

Maybe a minority, but I agree with you. I've always
felt that county line operation was a bit questionable,
at best. In many cases, it's not very clear where the
line really is! Is it right at the sign that says,
"Potter County - God's Country" or is it where the
pavement changes or is it at the township sign or
is it... well, you get the idea.

Of course, I was gone for over 20 years and just came
back in 1997. By that time, county line operation
was "the thing." So, I just bit my tongue and got
on with operating. :-)
