Hi, again,

I received several responses identifying the questionable beam as
a VB66DX, and that was the only 6 element beam made by Hy-Gain.
It is apparent that the VB66DX is not my beam.

The differences are as follows:-

The elements are 1/2" dia. and are mounted through the boom with
a #8 or #10 bolt, which is inserted thru a 3/8+" hole. They are
re-inforced where they go thru the boom with a 4" long sleeve, 9/16" dia.

The driven element is through the boom also, and uses a
'T' match (sometimes called a double gamma). This 'T' bar
is supported in the center with a glass insulator 1" x 1" x 3-1/4".

The boom is 2 pieces of heavy wall 1-1/2" dia. x 12'.

All element spacing is 57+"

This 'bunch of aluminum tubing' came to me in somewhat poor
condx. The one piece element lengths are,
115-1/2" 113-3/4"** 107" 105-1/2" 105" 101"
** What appears to be the driven elemeny (113-1/2") shows signs
of being clamped to the 'T' bar.
What really baffles me is the difference in length of the reflector and
the driven element being less than 2". No other 6-meter beam has
that little difference in length. The average is 5" to 7".

Could this be a beam made by Telrex, (long since out of biz), or
maybe a KLM, which I don't think was in business in the early 50's
If I don't get the info on this particular model I'll just redesign it to
my own guess-timates.
