[PaQSO] Digital Alternative

Idle thought, now that I've gone back and read a bunch of messages on the
subject that have piled up for the last couple of days...

What if "we" tried a separate Digital contest first, and then determined if
there was enough activity to justify serious consideration of adding a
digital mode to the existing contest.  ("We" not neccesarily meaning the
Nittany ARC, but sponsorship possibly by some interested individuals or a
digital-oriented club such as PODXS or SWPaPUG, not that I'm speaking for
either group, just wondering)

If I were to start such a "test" contest, so to speak... which I'm NOT
offering to do, BTW... I would, at least at first, keep the time short
(possibly Saturday only, shorter hours) and do it on the same weekend as the
ARRL September VHF Contest.  Why that weekend?  Two reasons:

(1) not too many HF contest-related activities on that weekend
(2) nostalgia.  After all, that WAS the original Pa QSO Party weekend,
before the VHFC moved to it and bounced PaQP to October...

Just a thought.  YMMV.  VWPBL.
