Many
CW people do not copy with computers(or send with
them), so CW is definitely harder. There are also a
lot less people there than on phone.
I personally disagree and find I could work all stations heard fast and
during
the last 10 years using qrp. qrp was harder on phone but still challenging.
Keep
the dig/cw points the same.
now we have
digital. Is there any challenge anymore?
Sure, it simply depends on your goal. set a realistic goal for yourself
based
on the equipment you are using. Mine this year was making 100 Q's using
old vintage gear hq180 & dx60b and the PLA straight key...goal met and
enjoyed
each and every Q. Also having recently set up rtty/psk on my ft920, I
found it
to be quite challenging(a long story, a lot of you have been there and done
that).
The 2006 challenge will simply replace cpu logging with paper/pencil(my
apologies in advance to the log checking dude).
Will there be a net gain, or
will digital only make up for points you will lose
elsewhere? Will you come out ahead or lose?
I think it will be a gain, as some fellows may get their first taste of
rtty without
the oil and noise and gain computer skills, not to mention visitors to the
shack
will just love the waterfall on the monitor, they already know how to type
so
let them make a few q's for you, invite some club members who say they have
done it all, re-light the fire, contesting in the PaQSO pty on all modes
really
rocks. cant wait.....
opps I exceeded my 2 cents worth...sorry..
