First, to address another comment, and with all due respect (really), I
think this is a GREAT idea! You want a club to get out the bonus QSOs,
here you go. Bob, allow me to allay any fears you might have about
IDs. As one-half of the mobile team, we will identify as
W3UU/M/County. That was already planned, at least in my pea brain, because
of possible fixed/mobile station confusion. Last year we generally
identified as KB3CO/County after answering all the "where are you"
questions when signing KB3CO/M. Signing M/County is no big deal. Now, I
can't guarantee that at midnight we'll keep it all straight, but we'll
try. It will, of course, be easier on SSB.
I really don't think the multiple W3UUs will be that hard to tell apart so
long as we do our jobs IDing. And if it turns out to be a not so hot idea,
well, it wouldn't be the first time a thought that was "out of the box"
didn't quite work. Don't think it'll come to that.
As soon as we get our county line-up one of us will post it. Should be
some really good ones. And we reserve the right to do a half-time course
correction if a nearby county turns out to be under represented. I don't
know about anyone else, but I'm in this for the good time.
