So, we simply exchange 2 serial sequential numbers, log it as the call/county abbreviation and enter it as two separate contacts?

Why the change, though?

Subject: [PaQSO] County line logging

I'm not sure I see what the issue is with the new county line logging rule,
and quite frankly, relative to logging, I see very little change.

First, I use NA software, and second, I'm assuming that when I work a county
line operation under the new rule I give them only one serial number.

Next, I enter that contact with the county abbreviation appended to the
call. Let's say Ed, WA3SES, is on the CMB and WES county line. I would log
him twice.....WA3SES/CMB then WA3SES/WES, each with it's own, unique serial
number. I would do this for each band and mode on which I work him.

Previously, I would follow the same procedure but would assign the same
serial number to both the first and second entry for each valid contact
made.

So, from the aspect of an NA software user, very little difference. Maybe
the issue is with the software? It appears that some of the Windows based
logging programs handle the county line contacts in a more friendly manner
under the previous rule.

Great to see the increased activity on this reflector. It's getting close!!

Best regards,

Bob, N3FR, portable WAR
