THE CHANGE IS THAT EACH COUNTY LINE STATION'S COUNTY WILL NOW
BE CONSIDERED TO BE A SEPARATE QSO. YOU WILL MAKE A SEPARATE LOG ENTRY
FOR
EACH COUNTY AND BOTH THE MULTIPLIER AND QSO POINT(S) WILL COUNT FOR EACH
COUNTY. THE COUNTY LINE STATION WILL STILL GIVE ONLY ONE NUMBER FOR THE
CONTACT AND THAT NUMBER WILL BE USED FOR ALL THE LOG ENTRIES FOR THAT
CONTACT.
If I have to log 2 or 3 separate QSO's for a county-line station that I
work, do I send them 2 or 3 serial numbers from my own log?
If I have to send 2 or 3 serial numbers to a county-line station, then
it's going to take me more time to complete a QSO (especially on CW),
because I have to go to the next log line, enter the other station's
callsign again, enter their serial number again, hit the function key
again to send the additional exchanges. And if it's a 3-county line, I
get to do this all this 3 times.
If that's not the case, then I have not a clue how to enter 2 or 3 QSO's
into my log but send them only 1 serial number of my own. Or do I just
skip over the additional serial number(s) and send what comes naturally
to the next station I work?
Arggh.
I know this change was well-intentioned and may help some people, but
the program I use (WriteLog) handles the county-line stations just fine,
and so for me it's going to create logging problems where none existed
before.
Frankly, for me this is a dis-incentive to call county-line stations,
particularly on CW, unless I am desperate for a particular county
multiplier.
