Notes;
1. Most mults I ever got. Previous best was 137 in 2001 and 2002.
2. Some technical problems on 40 meters with main rig.
3. Antennas: Wire dipoles for 160, 80, 40, 20 and 10, along with second 40
meter dipole installed as inverted V and second 20 meter dipole installed
as flat top at about 10 meters height (main 20 meter dipole about 20 meters
high).
4. Rigs: Yaesu Mark V and Kenwood TS940, barefoot.
5. Had DXDoubler setup for SO2R, but due to rig problems was unable to do
any of that. I'm still in kindergarten as far as SO2R goes.
6. 40 meter numbers down by about 25% from last year.......rig problems?
Propogation? Antenna setup not quite a good as last year?
7. Six glorious days in the woods. 3 1/2 year old Grandson's visit on
Friday was an (exhausting) treat.
8. A little post contest analysis shows that N3FR and I had a real knock
down/drag out battle going on for bragging rights from 1500z to 2100z
Sunday. I managed to find 4 mults on 15 phone between 2035z and 2053z (MT,
SJV, WTX and MT) that put me permanently in front, but until that time it
was really close. The good natured competition between us makes this event
double the fun.
9. A hearty thanks to all who got on the air, even for 1 QSO, to make this
event the great time that it is.
10. Finally, an aoplogy to W3USA for the interference I caused him on
Sunday.
