I guess it would depend on the location. When I operate at
our club station, I'm in a good position for 2 meters. At home it
isn't quite so good.
Also, it seems like 2 and 6 might be better suited for a
multi op multi transmitter setup, because if I'm operating alone, I
can make a lot more contacts somewhere else. If there is a person
handy who wants to try 2 or 6 meters, then that's a good thing.
Otherwise I can make a lot more contacts on 40 or even go for
multipliers on 20.
Now of course there is a chicken and egg thing. Those bands
won't attract enough people until there are enough people there to
attract enough people......
Maybe there should be a few brave people to say "We will be
on VHF for the contest" and to not worry about how many points they
are getting. Then when other OPS know they can get some QSO's there,
the problem will start to take care of itself. Anyone game?
