I would have to agree before the big change with ham radio, (from 13 WPM to 5 WPM to get full HF privs) i used to work the contest with 2m only i worked 96 all on two meters, couldn't get 4 more that year to make 100 i did'nt work the whole test all day just kept an ear out for new stations and worked them as i heard them come on. so i have to agree also its well worth the effort.

I would like to encourage everyone to give 2m FM a
listen on Sunday at 4PM. The common frequencies are
146.49, 52, 55, and 58. The NARC picked 146.55 as the
QSO freq, though. I know that the
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, PA area will have activity
there and K3YTL plans to also be active from Adams
County in Southern PA. K3YTL will attempt to call CQ
at 146.46 at 4PM. If there are no bites, the station
will move to the other mentioned freqs to try to stir
activity up. K3YTL HAS THE ABILITY TO WORK ALL 67
COUNTIES ON 2M FM, SO HOW ABOUT TRYING!!!!!! Did 24
counties last year on 2m FM with little effort. This
year the station is better yet. Will also be on 2m FM
for the entire contest in spurts. MAY BE GOOD to
leave radio on 146.55, or scanning the simplex
channels, for the entire contest, so you can answer
people who call CQ.

Also, please do not forget 6m. There has been
activity on 6m SSB in the past. Take a spin over
there too.

Most of all, have fun. We may actually have good
weather this weekend. Snow here on October 2, so
better weather would be much welcome.
