Hello folks!

Hope you all are coping satisfactorily with the snow and the cold weather.
Personally, I'm ready for Spring!

I'm a bit late with this but I wanted to respond none the less, and that is
to say thanks to Bill for the really fine W3FRC 5-band certificate. A very
nice certificate indeed. Thanks Bill.

And again, my thanks to the Frankford Radio Club for being all over the
place during the contest. Great job folks! Thanks!

It's never too soon to start planning for the upcoming big event folks. Not
a week goes by that I don't think about my portable antenna possibilities -
should I change this, should I add this, should I try high power, should I
take my AB-577 mast/tower????? So many questions, so much to consider, so
little time.

As Kay Craigie, WT3P mentioned in her earlier email, the VA QSO Party is
coming up and these are the types of operating events that help us hone our
skills for our beloved PaQP. In addition, there are contests in which you
can casually operate and possibly nab that rare country or that rare county.
Not to mention, it can be hilarious listening to the masses of radio
humanity (better known as pile-ups) screaming their lungs out, or sending
their calls 3 times in a row on CW, in an effort to catch the ear of the
targeted station. Believe me, it can be entertaining.

So, hang in there, Easter is just around the corner, warm weather will again
prevail, my golf clubs will be happy, and before you know it we will be once
again firming up our plans for the PaQP.

Me? Portable in Warren County! I love that place.

Take care and my best regards.

Bob, N3FR

K2NJ, Bill Inkrote, volunteered to prepare and pay for the W3FRC
Certificates. Please direct your thanks to him. [email protected] He
was one of the operators.

Please correct the FRC name. It is Frankford Radio Club, not "Franklin".
Many make that error. It is named after the Frankford section of
Philadelphia, where the Club was founded 75 years ago, in 1927. FRC is
seeking more contesters as members. If interested please visit the FRC
website, www.gofrc.org/

Bill, K3ANS; host of W3FRC and FRC Membership Chairman.
