John,

You've come across a classic web design issue. Here's some links I found
with some data:

http://clickclub.port5.com/screen.htm
http://www.clienthelpdesk.com/statistics_research/average_screen_resolution.
html

I believe in general the best practice these days is to support 800x600.
640 x 480 use is declining rapidly. Being able to support 640x480 is a good
thing, but I wouldn't burn alot of hours trying to do it.

Subject: [PaQSO] screen resolution

Hi everyone,

I have a question that seems off-topic, but I'm working on the new version
of my PQP website, so I guess it's not so far off.

What screen resolution is most common, these days? I'm running 800 by 600,
and my new pages fit nicely on the screen. At 640 by 480, they are not so
good.

This started me wondering; What is everyone using?

BTW, the new pages are not finished, but I have them posted at
www.qsl.net/kd8mq/pqp. I have a lot of work to do on them, yet, but at least
check out the cool countdown clock that I found.

John, Kd8MQ
