Just a reminder that N8LXR will be QRV from SNJ in the PA QSO Party this year
using both CW and SSB at 100 Watts.

Merrill, WK2G, has graciously offered the use of his FB shack, a station that
has taken First Place for SNJ in many contests. I'd like to thank Merrill
for being so accomodating.

Yesterday, Merrill installed a G5RV for use on 80 and 40 meters and I later
went over to his QTH to help work out some of the details of the G5RV
interacting and de-tuning the 160 meter sloper. The G5RV and the 160 meter
sloper are living happily together now with all antennas putting a FB short
skip signal into PA.

I will also have a FB six element tribander for the high bands at 60 feet,
and I will be trying to QSO PA even on those bands via groundwave,
backscatter, or whatever "funky" mode of propagation presents itself
supporting such short paths into PA from SNJ.

I will put in a full-time, round the clock effort, spending about half my
time on CW and half on SSB. I will try both calling CQ and searching and
pouncing, cycling the bands over and over to try and work as many stations in
the contest as possible. As for calling "CQ," on CW, the only thing that
concerns me is that it's a bit harder to make it clear that I want Qs with PA
stations only on CW! LOL. So, I'll play that part by ear!

I know that SNJ is not a rare multiplier for PA stations..but hey...if you
don't have it...you need it!

I am especially looking forward to QSOing W3FRC, the FRC's bonus station, on
as many bands and modes as possible. Our hats are off to Bill, K3ANS, and
all the Frankfort Radio Club operators for putting together a really top
notch bonus station this year.

It's going to be kind of fun looking for PA stations....not like shooting
fish in a barrel! Over the next few weeks, I will be using all the
information presented here on the relfector to put together a strategy to
really do well in the Out-of-State Category, including tracking of mobiles
and so on.

Good luck to all!

73 and let the games begin!

Tim
