[PaQSO] WASH N3SH & WA3SH Update

Update:

WA3SH Westmoreland/Somerset County Line  (change of announced county)

One of our club members is an engineer at WPXI-TV, and he was able to make
arrangements with someone he used to work with at another station to use
their transmitter site.  This will most likely be a Multi-Single effort, and
it may have a lot of Pa QSO "rookies" who are unable to make the trip to
Clarion.

Speaking of which:

N3SH Clarion (possible change to County Line)

Plans proceed to activate N3SH as a multi-multi from the N3SBF/KB3GMN cabin
in Clarion County.  However, since the location is about 300 feet or so from
the Forest County line, we are giving strong consideration to running some
of the wire antennas over to & crossing the line to make N3SH another County
Line station.  Any thoughts on that from the multitude, or is it more
trouble than it will be worth?

Of course, in addition to the two club stations, many WASH members will be
active from Allegheny and Washington Counties.  At least one mobile (N3ZNI
with KB3GOT riding shotgun) will be running around WPA, and yes, they will
be in Armstrong amongst many others!  And I may not make up my own mind
until the last minute -- right now, I'm leaning towards helping get WA3SH
running and then running my own portable from nearby.  (After 1990, I'm not
so sure I want to be in Somerset again -- as you know, Sherm KC3XD can't get
on every year, and I managed to pick one of the times he was also on...
don't want to step on his toes again...)

And I'm trying to convince our "southern outpost" member, to get for a
little bit from the USVI -- but don't consider that official yet, I've been
working on that one for 3-4 years with no success, which is why I'm not
mentioning the call.

Finally, don't forget that WA3IOU and N3LGY will be QRV in Montserrat as
VP2MEB & VP2MAB October 11th - 25th.  Gino has previously told me that he
DOES plan to work the QSO party from there, and I haven't heard otherwise
since!  (QSL both calls via WA3IOU, incidently)
