Joe,

Nice try. Doesn't work. Just ask my nephew who decided to get married last
year on PaQP weekend; my plans were irrelevant. And on top of that, I
already had KQ3DX's wedding to go to the same day, too -- you think HE'D
have known better!

When asked "If you had been in President Clinton's place, would you have
resigned?",
Republican Member of the House of Representatives Dick Armey replied:

"If I were in the President's place, I would not have gotten a chance to
resign. I would be laying in a pool of my own blood, hearing Mrs. Armey
standing over me saying, "How do I reload this damn thing?"

It seems every year i hear the same stories, from different people that
their plans have changed because of family issues, etc. well there can be
a way to avoid these complications, at least the avoidable ones. Every
family i know, uses some calender in the house to mark what can't be
missed on what dates. Like doctor appointments etc. Well every new year
when you get your new calender mark the dates for the contest you like to
work every year. I always mark Field Day and the PA QSO so my family
knows I will not be available on those dates. The PA QSO is always the
2nd full weekend in October. If you use this system its a good way to let
your kids, wife, girlfriend, roommate, what have you, to know that there
is this contest on this date and don't plan on having me around.
