Our thanks to Bud,AA3B, for the compilation.

I'm especially pleased to find out that someone, (KN4SK), will be
in INN as a ROVER sometime Sunday. Hope I snag him for the
mult for 'my' county, just in case I miss WA3BNH, who lives up
the road from where I'll be.

I don't see anyone listed for PER. I guess I'll have to set my sights
on that one for next year.
Seems like the 'Rare & Difficult Counties' list is getting smaller.
Pretty soon there wont be any left for me to go to !
Don't get me wrong. I'm very thankful that, at my age, I have been
blessed with the opportunity to do this portable thing for these
past 15 years. I still harbor the desire to do a CW/QRP venture, as
well as try at least once to do Mobile.

I still marvel at, and reminisce, back to 1987, when I first went
portable in SUL, (hunting club camp), using a Heathkit SB-102
and trapped 40/80 dipole and HAND LOGGED. And my disappointment
in discovering there were 2 other portables in SUL, and KB3ND/3
beat me out by 1400 Pts. I made 2 more Q's but a lot less CW, and
less mults. According to the results that year, by Doug(W3HDH), and
I quote, "More stations captured all 67 counties than ever before
with 10 entries logging all of 'em." He also noted that BEA was the
rare one that year. This was also the year I discovered the edge you
got from working CW. I only had 56 Q's. The next year, in BRA/3 I made
162 CW out of a total of 529 Q's.

In my next contribution I'll go back in my files and pass along some
other interesting history. I have all the results back to 1986.

Good luck to all, and have a safe and memorable PAQP.

The Grump.
