I strongly suspect that the Nittany ARC will not give serious consideration
to drastic changes like these changes in the point value.

Subject: [PaQSO] Spice it up???
Group,
I would be curious to know if the NARC has ever pondered such a thing.
What about simply changing the point value? All CW contacts = 3 points
and all SSB/FM contacts = 2 points.
It would make it easier for some category records to be broken, which in
turn, may generate more interest. Interest in breaking records and in
defending them as well.
Along those same lines, opening up the "1 point" value would make it easy
to "insert" digital mode(s) such as PSK and/or RTTY. This could be done
immediately or over a multi-year period of change.
I am sure some would rise to the occasion and question why PSK or RTTY
were only valued at 1 point/contact. Quite simply, if the change were to
occur the defense could be explained as "the preservation of PQP's history
and values with the addition of a progressive component".
Then again... I could be wrong; but I'll be back in 2003 regardless!
