[PaQSO] ONE OTHER WAY TO SPICE UP THE SCORING IN PAQP

One of the ways that some of the DX contests have made the scoring a little
more interesting is through the sending of "QTCs" between stations. I think
this scoring feature could be used to great advantage in PAQP as well,
especially when everybody seems to have worked everybody.

A "QTC" is simply a report from one station to another listing where and when
certain stations were heard and worked. Up to 5 stations can be reported
and both the sending and receiving stations get credit for the QTC. In PAQP,
one rule would be that at least one of the reported stations must be a PA
station. This would help people find out where the PA stations are and also
help PA stations find out where section multipliers are. A "QTC" listing
from one station to another would sound like this:

W3TTY: CQ CQ PAQP DE W3TTY
N8LXR: DE N8LXR QTC?
W3TTY: R GA
N8LXR: W3RER/CAR 7030 1814Z
(If W3TTY received OK he just sends a "dit" or says 'GO" on
fone)
                 W6REW/LAX 14,045 1900Z
                 K3GTE/POT 7.043 1830Z

This is a lot of fun and can be done between any two stations in the contest.
If between non-PA stations, then perhaps the reporting of PA stations only
would be allowed....between PA and out-of-state, any reporting of stations
would be allowed. Of course, there is usually a limit to how many QTCs can
be done per hour and how many to the same station.

I think it would be kind of fun to add this to PAQP...those Sundays when
everyone has worked everyone are a little long and QTCs would make it so that
you can keep operating with opporunity to score even when things are slow as
far as new stations are concerned and they would also render reliable
information as to where new stations might be found.

Just a thought.........

73 to all
