Want a neat contest! Fought Murphy throughout, and gave up at time,
but kept coming back. Kudos to all of the participants, especially
those that put up with the old Heath keyer and it's operator at times
fighting each other. Spent a lot of time up on 20M, with some time
on 15M - but activity was very sparse. Was glad to hear all the
acty on 160. Could of had more than the regular 'hard core' show
up on CW, but it still was good. One thing came out of this year's
bash, and it was that I am going to clean house and get me a couple
of reliable contest rigs, and either hook up one of my PA's or they
are going also. Lost the one old Yaesu with about 4 hours to go,
and had to shift back to the 450, but sure missed my 940 that I had
hope to have back from OH before this past weekend. Anyway - it was
fun - I will be back next year [maybe have changed my call by then
to a '3' - who knows]. Thanks again for getting me back to the
dits & dahs.
OH - one favor if it is permissible. At the start of the contest,
my laptop went south also [Murphy] and I lost the first 3 nbrs given
by my first three contacts:
K3TX - # 1 - 40M/CW
KC3M - # 2 - ditto
WA3QNT -# 3 - ditto
if possible can the above pass them to me - if not, I will just ignore
the first 3.
Missed the sweep [to much time on upper bands trying to get West coast
Mults]
Ended up with 57 counties/57 sections & 616/CW QSO's.
Will give preliminary score as soon as I dig out of the mess I
created.
73,
