40M ssb only - using my trusty old FT-901DM =100w to horizontal 40M Loop at 
25 ft.

       119 QSOs
       54 Counties

       6426 Pts= Raw Score

Highlight: Worked a guy near Philly who remembered me from  high school-- 
back in the late 50s!

Fitted in 3.5  hours of casual, mostly search and pounce operating, in 
between time with my daughter home from college, a visit by my son and his 
girlfriend,  a birthday lunch, and the Penn State-Michigan football game ( 
including overtime) on TV.  Following the game, I was not in the mood to 
operate.

Propagation was great both days with plenty of strong PA sigs on 40M.   When 
the house finally quieted down - around 4:30pm Sunday- , I found a spot 
around 7185khz to call CQ PA , and even that late time  produced a steady 
stream of contacts!

Heard lots of goodwill, cooperation and friendly competition. Only one wise 
guy, and one anti-contester. ( not bad for 40m ssb!)   99.9%  were having fun 
in the Best QSO Party  going!  

Thanks to NARC for sponsoring it, to everyone who went out of their way to 
put the rare   ones on the air, and to all the casual operators who  made a 
few contacts just for the heck of it.

Due to the aforementioned factors, and my mobile rig going South  a few weeks 
before the contest, I was unable to put FOREST CO. on the air this year. 
Maybe NEXT TEAR ...from CRAWFORD CO. Pymatuming Reservoir here I come.  A 
couple of scouting expeditions.....  to find a cabin with electricity and 
space to hang a 160M horizontal loop, and to plug in the computer.  Thank God 
for Logging Software.
