[PaQSO] Just a thought....and a wish list

I wonder what percentage of the ops sending in logs for PAQP participate in
the pre-contest reporting of what stations will be acitive in which counties?

For instance, right now, we have activity listed in all the counties with the
mobiles included, but there are several counties where no fixed station or
portable activity is being reported. I am sure that will not be the case
during the contest.

I guess the some of the guys operating from home are doing so casually and
don't feel the need to report that they will be on from a given county and
the operators watching the reflector and listing their activity are the
"hardcore" competitive ops.

One thing that strikes me as a do-able thing is to have a listing of what
stations will be active out-of-state and from what sections. If we were to
have a website for that over the course of a given year, maybe guys would
list their intended activity and thereby be prompted to participate in PAQP
out-of-state, yet one more way to shake the impression that our great state
QSO Party is an INTRA state contest primarily.

I am not a computer programmer (God knows!) but it sure would be neat to have
a logging program whereby one could enter the callsigns and routes of the
mobile stations as program parameters and then the program would prompt the
operator to check for a given mobile on either the last frequency it was
heard or give the operator a list of the mobile window frequencies whereby it
may be heard. A wish list..unless I can get my friend who has a
degree is comupter programming to do it for me! LOL

Just musing....really hate being out of state this year but making it fun
none-the-less by trying to do a lot of pre-contest workup to see who is going
to be active and from where...LOL it's not like shooting fish in a barrel
this time!

73 to all...hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.
