Didya ever try to get the YFL (Year First Licensed) on CW from
an uninitiated contact?
A serial number - they understand.
It's OK in the CW ARRL SS, where its been part of the
exchange for about 60 years. 
The QCWA party requires the same thing and its a bear on CW.

AND

About the mobile/rover subject is like an old navy saying,
"It's only a boat if it can be hoisted aboard a ship"
It's only a mobile if it can be driven over the road while 
operating. Otherwise it's either a rover or a portable.
A portable stays in one location for the entire contest.
A rover operates 'as a portable' but from more than one location.

How much simpler can it be?
