Hi All,
There is no doubt that Doug always did a tremendous job on the party. He also
had many years of experience, and was an avid party contester.
We must remember that often when a "club" sponsors such an event that often
translates to one person doing everything, often with little experience in
managing the event or maybe being at a disadvantage due to never having taken
part in the event themselves.
Many valid complaints have been made on this forum. But, I have a hard time
believing that if the matter was taken to the coordinator he would refuse to
make the needed adjustments to fix the situation. I guess if anyone contacted
the coordinator and he outright refused to correct the situation, then there
may be a reason to publically complain.
Anyone who was put in the wrong category, score not listed, or whatever should
contact the coordinator and ask him to fix the situation. I'm sure if someone
should have gotten a certificate, but didn't due to a mistake, it would be
made right.
I look forward to seeing feedback as to what happens when the matters are
discussed with the coordinator in a respectful manner. I know we had to
straighten out a few mistakes regarding the clean sweep plaques, and happily
did so.
There is room for improvement in the management of the contest next year. If
there is anything any of you can do to help the coordinator or take some of
the burden off his shoulders I'm sure he would welcome the help.
73, and hope to see you in the test,
Duane WV2B
