Thanks Ed for this very interesting data.

In fact, I asked Ed if he would do a comparison to previous years, simply to
see how the contest is trending. He graciously offered to drop everything
he is currently doing to get right on it. Welllllll, he also mentioned
something about a bridge.....

Seriously though, I was surprised at the CW versus SSB percentages. Guess I
always thought they were much closer than that. And the HI power versus Low
power and QRP is a bit shocking as I thought for sure there were many more
HI power stations than what the data indicates.

Good stuff Ed. Thanks!

I wish you all a very Happy Holiday Season and a Healthy, Happy New Year!

Bob, N3FR

Subject: [PaQSO] 2002 Pa QSO Party Trivia

Was going to send this to my buddy N3FR, but thought you all could use a
little Pa QSO Party "fix"

There were 298 Pa stations submitting logs this year.........how many in
recent past years????

122,635 total QSO's were claimed by Pa Stations.
      10,710 80/160meter CW QSO's
      25,834 other CW QSO's
      86,091 SSB QSO's

30% were CW; 70% SSB

80/160 meter CW vs. 10/15/20/40 meter CW also broke down to 30%/70%.

166 stations were in EPA; 113 in WPA. The remaining 19 were 6 rovers, 11
mobiles and 2 home stations on a county line. I didn't classify the mobile
stations as far as EPA/WPA for obvious reasons. Left the Rovers and county
line stations out for similar reasons.

There were 35 LUZ county stations, the most of any county.

There were 45 Hi power stations; 235 low power stations and 18 QRP
stations.

There were 259 home stations; 11 mobiles; 24 portables and 6 rovers.

The total claimed score of all stations in Pa was 18,021,553. (I tried to
get N3FR to give me some of his points so I could beat out N3LL for the
Portable plaque, but he wouldn't do it, even though I promised to return
them next year.........)

I didn't leave the "outside" Pa stations out of this for any "provincial"
reasons; just didn't download that data from the Pa party home page.
