Howdy everyone,
I'm looking forward to this one also, even though I "stuck" John (AD8J) and
Mike (KC3MR) who are arranging a multi-op effort from Jefferson County, OH.
I was supposed to be part of that effort but was reminded just yesterday of
a family event we were obligated to attend. So, I know as of yesterday John
was still looking for an op to round out the team.
I'll be on as much as I can, working around the family obligation of course.
I know for a fact that a large percentage of my PaQP contacts come from Ohio
so it's time to return the favor.
The keyer's dusted off and the mic's ready to roll. See you all tomorrow!
Bob, N3FR

Subject: [PaQSO] Help Our Neighbors to the West
This is from Hal, W1NN, who was having problems trying to post directly to
the reflector:
Hi Everyone,
The PAQP is less than two months away. With half of the fun being in the
planning, anticipation and discussion, the fun season has begun.
This message is a reminder that our good neighbors to the west are holding
their annual party this weekend. It begins at noon Saturday and runs for
12 hours. K8MR already reminded us of this.
The PAQP gets a lot of support from the Buckeye crowd every October and I'd
like to suggest that everyone who can should get on for at least an hour or
two and pass out some points to our neighbors. The sponsor is the Mad
River Radio Club, who also sponsors the Michigan QSO Party. The MRRC
members always make an effort to get on in the other state qso parties, and
they will surely reciprocate in October if they work a lot of PA stations
this weekend.
Activity will be mainly on 20 and 40, CW and SSB. If you have trouble
working the Ohio stations on 20, they should be very loud on 40. There are
at least six mobiles planning full time efforts. The mobiles typically
spend half of their time on 20 and half on 40, so if you keep a close watch
on 40, you should be able to work all of the mobiles in all of the counties
they hit.
This weekend will be a great chance to practice up for the Big Event in
October!
73,
Hal W1NN
Long Pond, PA
