[PaQSO] The Ides of PAQP

It is said that there are three types of people: pessimists, optimists, and
engineers. The pessimist says the glass is half empty. The optimist says
the glass is half full. The engineer says the glass is twice as big as it
needs to be.

Likewise there are three types of PAQP people: those who say it's been six
long months since the PAQP; those who say it's only six months to the next
PAQP; and those that say "Let's do something while we're waiting, like get on
for the Michigan QSO Party this Saturday!".

The MQP is this Saturday, April 20, running from noon to midnight EDT. Just
like PAQP, the exchange is QSO number and county/state. With 83 Michigan
counties, you get 16 extra counties above PA's 67. You get separate
multipliers for working a county on both SSB and CW. And it only takes one
day, Saturday.

There will be a number of PAQPers active from MI: John, AD8J, will be
portable in Leelanau county. Hal,W1NN, and I will both be mobile, as will
PAQP out of state winner Ken, W8MJ, who will be part of the K8CC/m team.

Full rules are at www.mrrc.net/mqp.

For WriteLog users, there is now an MQP module available courtesy of N9OH, at

I hope a lot of you will stop by and get a QSO Party fix to help keep you
going until October!

p.s. Bonus quiz! What four counties (each) in PA and MI share the same name?
