The Mid Atlantic Emergency Net now meets on every first and third Wednesday
of the month at 2100 hours Eastern time on 5330.5 USB. The time change to one
hour later from previous should enable better grayline propagation to those in
the Central time zone who have wanted to check in. All amateurs from
anywhere that can copy Net Control or ask for a relay are welcome.
Net Control rotates among the first through fourth plus the 8th call
districts by month. First call area in January, through 8th call area in May, then
the cycle repeats. Volunteer NCS are always needed from the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th
and 8th call areas, but anyone able to establish reliable communication with
the net may be an NCS. You don't have to commit to a regular "slot". If a
regular NCS cannot make their "sked" we encourage anyone to jump in and give it a
shot. A suggested script is in the files section as a guide. But if you step
up to the plate, it is "your show" and you may customize the net format and
content within nrmal bounds of good amateur practice. We only ask that the net
be kept short to approximately 30 minutes so that we don't "hog" the
frequency.
Please be considerate of fellow operators. If our primary net frequency is
in use at net time, a net has no more right to use than anyone else. It's OK
to ask politely if the users would yield for the net for about 30 minutes, and
please invite them to check in
