[Packet] Airmail

Important to this would be knowing if you're planning to use a local VHF or
UHF packet network, or if you want to use the HF Pactor network stations to
accomplish your connection.
For VHF, a Kantronics KPC3 (used) or KPC3+ (new or used), with appropriate
cables, are probably the quickest way to the prize.
For HF, you need a box capable of Pactor - and many of the HF Pactor
stations will require that you use at least Pactor II. That's a
substantially more expensive capability to get, because at this time, there
is only one manufacturer of Pactor II/III modems, and for a new modem,
commands prices about 4 times the new price of the Kantronics modem. You'll
also need appropriate cables for connecting it to the TS-2000.

Subject: [Packet] Airmail
How do I connect my Kenwood TS2000 to check Airmail by HF? I can check it on
Telnet but that is it. I did learn recently that my built-in TNC can't
handle the job so I must connect something else. Any help would be
appreciated.
