[Packet] Linux & axports.

This thread has proven very confusing to me and I have questions. I take it
minicom is a terminal emulation application and as such, why would one need
to, put the TNC into the KISS mode? In normal operation the TNC's imbedded
micro processor does the job of assembling and dis-assembling the packets
according to the AX25 protocol. I has been my impression that KISS bypasses
the embedded computer allowing a more powerful computer application to take
over it's chores. I don't think that is a job most generic terminal
emulation applications are designed to do. Shane I too will stick with
Winpack or even YAPP sounds like Linux applications may not yet to be user
friendly yet. I'm not getting bored but may need some education.--73

: There is no point trying to start the ax25 stuff until you get the TNC

: For now you can hash out the stuff you don't need to get into KISS mode.
