[Packet] AX.25 Decoder Chip?

Are there any PIC or Basic Stamp based AX.25 (packet) based decoder chips,
boards, programs or projects out there?

I have a BSIISX, so something along the Basic Stamp route would be nice for
starters if possible.

I would like to find something simple to play with, something that will show
only what a KPC-3 for example, shows when monitoring on air traffic.

Example: (KPC-3, Monitor Mode, APRS data)

W6BXN-3>GPSHW,WIDE2 [10/17/02 14:32:33]:{F0}
$ULTW00AC00A3026F0754----0000C1A40001----0121037000000066

KQ6TM>GPSLK,WIDE3-1 [10/17/02 14:32:39]:{F0}
$GPRMC,213909,A,3756.7907,N,12200.6498,W,000.0,050.7,171002,015.4,E*6F

KB7QWW-14>APU16N,WA6YLB-4*,WIDE7-1,WA7RAT-12 [10/17/02 14:32:44]:{F0}
:KD7PIE :Going to get load going to NJ today.{19

This chip would take off air audio and convert it to ASCII data which could
be seen on-screen in a dumb terminal program.

I guess it would need to add a carraige return too if it is not part of the
AX.25 protocol. Timestamp would be a nice touch... Anyone know of anything
along these lines?
