Justin:

You might wanna whip the lid off of that thing and write
down the "release" number of the firmware for future
reference.

While you've got it open, also check for "whiskers"
around the battery.  As I remember, my KPC-2 had
one of those solder-in jobbers.  The batteries are
still available from a number of sources, or you could
cheat and stick a button battery and new holder inside
the TNC and tack the new leads down on the original
battery's solder pads.

Good luck with that thing.  They were really good TNC's.
